I’m very touched by everyone’s encouragement. Thank you.

Kira, the wording in your comment is very meaningful to me: “the pain and agony of these beds trying to get done.”

It was the dirt that kept me going back out there whenever it was wet enough but dry enough. I wanted to quit a bunch of times, but I didn’t want to give up on the dirt itself.

I was focused on the beds, as your wording suggests. I also really tried hard not to overly sculpt the yard, and that’s why the beds are so big.
